Srinagar, Oct 10 (KNO): On the sacred and spiritually uplifting occasion of the Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA)—revered across the world as Ghaus-ul-Azam Dastgeer Sahib (RA)—the Ehsaas Foundation organised a Free Tea Stall at the Dastgeer Sahib Shrine, Khanyar, Srinagar
As per a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the initiative was aimed at serving thousands of devotees who thronged the shrine to pay their respects and seek blessings on this blessed occasion.
Throughout the day and night, volunteers from Ehsaas Foundation distributed free tea, water, and other refreshments to the pilgrims visiting from different parts of Kashmir.
Chairman Zahoor Ahmad Malik, while speaking on the occasion, expressed deep spiritual joy and said, “The Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) is a time of reflection, devotion, and service. It reminds us of the values of compassion, generosity, and unity taught by the great saint. Serving the devotees through such humble initiatives gives us immense satisfaction and spiritual fulfillment.”
He further added that Ehsaas Foundation has always been at the forefront of community welfare and social upliftment through initiatives like free medical camps, awareness drives, blood donation programmes, and relief work. “Our mission is to serve humanity with sincerity, without any expectation or discrimination. This small act of service at the shrine is a continuation of our efforts to spread kindness and compassion,” he stated.
The stall witnessed a huge participation of local volunteers, members, and well-wishers of the Foundation who worked tirelessly to ensure every devotee was served with warmth and respect.
Devotees and local residents appreciated the gesture, saying it reflected the true Kashmiri spirit of hospitality and brotherhood. The soothing aroma of tea, the smiles of volunteers, and the peaceful chants of prayers created a deeply spiritual atmosphere around the Khanyar shrine.
As night descended, the shrine of Hazrat Dastgeer Sahib (RA) glowed with faith and devotion, while the Ehsaas Foundation’s stall continued its service late into the night—symbolizing love, service, and the timeless message of humanity taught by the saints—(KNO)
